What your insurer may not tell you
After an accident, your insurance company may recommend a “preferred” shop. That’s a suggestion, not a requirement. Here’s what you may hear, and what’s actually true.
Fact: We work with all major insurance companies and bill them directly, so there are no surprises on your end. Your deductible is set by your policy, not by the shop you choose.
Fact: We back our collision repairs with our own workmanship warranty. The warranty comes from the shop that does the work, and that’s us.
Fact: Rental coverage comes from your policy, not from the shop you pick. If you have it, it applies here too. We partner with Enterprise and can have your rental delivered right to our shop.
Minnesota law protects your right to choose. Your insurance company cannot require you to use a particular repair shop. Minn. Stat. § 72A.201, subd. 6(14)]

From minor fender benders to major damage, we repair the body, structure and finish of your vehicle.
Cracked, scuffed or torn bumpers repaired or replaced, including the brackets and sensors behind them.
Door dings, creases and panel dents, including paintless dent repair when the paint isn't damaged.
Bent frames and unibody damage measured and pulled back into factory specifications.
Color-matched paint and clear coat that blends in with the rest of your vehicle.
Suspension, alignment, cooling system and other mechanical parts damaged in the crash.
We’re a collision and body shop. We repair damage from accidents. We don’t do routine maintenance like oil changes, brakes or tires.

No. In Minnesota, you have the right to choose where your car is repaired. Your insurance company can suggest a shop, but it can’t require you to use one. Just tell them you’d like Spectrum Auto Body to do the work, and we’ll take it from there.
